The Trustees of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust along with the staff of the Engineering Department offered gratitude to Swami, on the occasion of National Engineers’ day.
September 15 is celebrated as National Engineers’ day in memory and honour of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Sir Visvesvaraya is credited with many monumental works that have served the country. His contribution in installing the flood protection systems for the dams that has saved many from floods is most notable. The famous ones being at Hyderabad and Mysore. He was conferred Bharath Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour in 1955.
As part of the Engineers’ Day gathering here, the Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Global Council & Member Trustee, SSSCT, Sri K Chakravarthi & the Managing Trustee, SSSCT, Sri RJ Rathnakar interacted with the staff of the Engineering Department, expressing appreciation and to reviewing the works taken up during the last few years. The works to be taken up in the run-up to the Centenary celebrations were also discussed.
The works the department has been actively involved in include the construction of the Convention Centre, Solar power plants, lifts for the blocks in the Ashram, renovation of rooms, provision of hot water for pilgrims and students, Sai Charan (facility for elderly), replacement of asbestos at various buildings, construction of the crematorium, renovation of the community hall at Brahmanapalli, black topping of roads, new roof for the Poorna Chandra auditorium, replacing of poly-carbonate sheet and water proofing of Sai Kulwant Hall, renovation at Swami’s parent’s Samadhi, installation of fire protection systems, augmentation of street lights and providing inverter bulbs in common areas, Anganwadis at Kerala, digital museum at Brindavan and Drinking water plants at Odisha.
The works being taken up leading up to centenary celebrations include, re-laying of roads in Ashram and at SSSIHMS PG, additional water reservoirs, dormitories for pilgrims, staff quarters and workers quarters at Brindavan, additional class rooms at Eswaramma High School, lifts for all buildings in Ashram etc.
The Trustees presented the staff with mementos and enthused them to rededicate themselves for Swami’s work. We take this opportunity to thank the members of the Engineering Department for their tireless service & dedication to Bhagawan.
