Bhagawan’s grand 97th birthday Celebrations began with a heartfelt musical offering by the Prasanthi Bhajan Group. This was followed by the welcome address by Sri SS Naganand, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. He gave brief highlights of the activities of Bhagawan's institutions and this was followed by the dedication of the Trust's Annual Report to Swami. The Chief Guest Sri G Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Culture and DoNER, Govt. of India addressed the gathering thereafter. In his address, he lauded the wonderful service activities undertaken by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. He also invited all devotees to prepare in a grand way for Bhagwan’s centenary celebration and expressed that the Government too is keen to extend all necessary support to make the historic event a huge success. Then, gold medals were awarded by the Chief Guest to all the winners of the All-India Essay Writing competition which was conducted by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, India. As we approach the Divine Centenary, a Tree Plantation Drive of planting 10 Million trees was launched. Sri RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust along with the Chief Guest Sri Kishan Reddy handed over the saplings to all the office bearers, zonal chairs and revered dignitaries. Other dignitaries attending the event included Sri Sridhar Reddy, MLA, Puttaparthi & Sri K Gorantla Madhav, MP, Hindupur. Here are the glimpses of the event.
