The Managing Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri RJ Rathnakar, is embarking on a 4 day trip to Karnataka taking the Mission of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba forward.
Bhagawan has always mentioned in HIS Discourses that the true spirit of Bharat exists in the villages. After spending a considerable amount of time with the ethnic Siddi Tribes at Yellapura, the entourage moved to another remote village area, Neelavani, where a commendable effort of desilting nearly 14 lakes has been taken up by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Karnataka.
Sri RJ Ratnakar along with revered dignitaries and office bearers of the Organisation inspected this lake rejuvenation and desilting program - ‘Sai Bhageeratha’ at Karlakatta village, Haliyal Taluk, Uttara Kannada district. Many lakes have been rejuvenated in the nearby villages ensuring that the water is stored throughout the year, increasing the storing capacity during monsoons & raising the water table.
People from around 30 villages had gathered to welcome the guests. Thousands of children, men and women decked up in their traditional attire, showcased their local art forms of music and dance. A grand procession with women carrying Poornakumbha, children singing bhajans and men beating drums led the guests to the newly constructed Sri Sathya Sai Skill Development Centre - ‘Sai Koushalya’. This spacious and a well equipped training centre which was inaugurated by Sri RJ Rathnakar, has around 300 women from nearby villages who specialise in making garlands, bags, purses, dolls, jewellery and dresses.
The entire atmosphere was charged with selfless love - Love towards their dear Lord. Villagers from each house had arranged a Swami’s altar on the street in front of their house and decorated them. The number of people in the procession was so huge that it spanned more than half a kilometre.
