With Maha Shivarathri, the sacrosanct Night Of Lord Shiva, just a day away, Prasanthi Dance Group comprising of students from Sai educational institutions presented a ‘dance’ offering titled Bhakti Prabhavam this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam. The theme for the evening was based on a tale from the famed Pandia Kingdom of Varaguna Pandian of the era, AD 800-830.
Commencing the session with a prayer to destroy the evils in their minds, offering gratitude for all that He has ever done for them, the troupers first invoked Bhagawan to do the Ananda Natanam in their hearts dancing through them.
Facing a problem from the famed Hemanta Bhagavatar, a prodigious musical maestro, who challenged the King to set the eligible-best in the kingdom against him in a contest failing which the King should forfeit his kingdom, the King approached Bana Bhadra to save his skin. Facing the Kingly order, humble and simple Bana was in a dire predicament. He soon turned to his Lord, Lord Shiva, seeking Divine guidance.
Playing His part, Lord Shiva manifested before Him promising to do anything and everything he wishes. Bana prayed to be blessed with the ultimate Ananda Tandavam, and The Lord blessed him with a ‘so be it’ ‘dancing to the devotee’s tune’.
As the story evolved stage by stage, the troupers danced to the centre-stage, dancing unto Him making it a great Shivarathri eve.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
