Into holistic medicare following Bhagawan’s mandate for selfless service, the second of the twin super speciality hospitals set in motion by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, SSSIHMS, Whitefield, Bengaluru turned 19 today. The ‘temple of healing’ was pressed into service on January 19, 2001 by the Divine Hands in presence of the then Prime Minister of India, Sri Atal Behari Vajpayee.
On the grand occasion of the anniversary today, staffers at the hospital presented an evening of cultural presentations at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Addressing the evening assembly with heartfelt gratitude to Bhagawan for the unique initiative, Director, SSSIHMS, Dr Sekhar Rao spoke of the collective sense of working and living as a large close-knit family that is prevailing at the ‘temple of healing’. ‘Undoubtedly, the hospital has endured two decades and proved that such a model is necessary and viable,’ said Dr Rao, enlisting the major statistical details. Touching upon every single area of operation in the hospital, the director in his parting remark promised Bhagawan to remain vigilant, ensuring to maintain the volume and quality, excelling in attitude and manner while dealing with every single patient.
A well-laid offering on the Sai Preventive Health Care Programme followed next, entitled SAI – The Way, The Truth and The Life, presented by a host of medicos ably led by Dr Prayaag Kini. The presentation defined the Sai Health Care Mission set in motion by Bhagawan, revealing the all-round SAI perspective offering complete healing. S-A-I stands for Service, Adoration, Illumination, symbolising, the three paths of karma, bhakti and jnana, and the offering was based on this illustrious theme.
The pointers for the evening were, the unique selfless mission that is aimed at benefitting the Self, how over-all healthcare is promoted by addressing mental, emotional and physical ailments, ensuring complete healing, the practice of ‘alternative medicine’ that being practising an alternate to medicine following adoration and devotion.
How the Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas moulds generation next is aptly exhibited involving a host of tiny tots, spelling out various beautiful teachings of Bhagawan. Value-practice-exercise involving children using 26 alphabets and numbers induced greater interest, enlightening the waning twilight. Earlier, the tiny tots, children of staffers at the hospital presented a beautiful invocatory dance offering, setting the tone for the beautiful evening.
Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi offering to Bhagawan.
